At this point to say Ugbad Abdi is a fixture in American Vogue would be an understatement. Fact is the November 2019 issue is Ugbad’s sixth overall appearance this year in the US edition, which means it would not be unreasonable for any reader to assume that she is in fact a permanent feature. Ugbad’s latest editorial outing sees her appear in a suiting story by photographer Bibi Borthwick and stylist Camilla Nickerson. As the title “Suiting Yourself” suggests, this 10-page story is all about tailoring and its renaissance of late. Open to Page 124 and there is Ugbad, wearing a sophisticated Louis Vuitton embellished leather motocross-meets-rococo cape and silk blazer, which when worn with a Bottega Veneta pant, and Van Cleep & Apels clip on headwrap (pictured) make plain just why she is the go-to model for his title.
