“It shall be unlawful for any person to operate or ride upon a motorcycle unless she wears a protective helmet of a type which meets the requirements set forth in section 571.218 of the federal motor vehicle safety standards as may from time to time be amended.” Bottom line for motorcyclists in New York State, wear a helmet, it is the law. Nowhere, however in New York’s Vehicle and Traffic Law at Section 381(6) does it state a rider must wear a top! Sara Eirud is mostly in luck for her latest shoot for Document Journal with photographer Danielle Neu and stylist Jodie Barnes as she is clothed only from the waist down (pictured) wearing a pant by Loewe and boot by Giuseppe Zanotti. Sure, Sara’s not wearing a helmet, but the motorcycle is very clearly parked in a studio, which means all the forward motion is the Swedish stunner’s to claim. Motorcycle helmet laws do save lives, however, always remember that.
