Funny times these. Although fashion has a capacity to disappoint, it occasionally reaches heights that exceed all possible expectations. The December 2019 issue of British Vogue is one such exception, not least for the story it carries by photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott. “Tickled Pink” as it is called celebrates the quirky, the outlandish, the oddly shapen features of this season’s collections. Capturing the very essence of this editorial is of course Cara Taylor on Page 193 (pictured) wearing a glittered eye and slashes of rouge across her left and right cheek. What is more, earrings, vintage necklace, and a headdress by House of Flora drive home the idea that this is nothing short of a moment to behold. Further emphasis comes courtesy of Next London’s Meghan Collison, who also features in this story.
